Conditions

The Crescendo Piano Competition 2011 is open to young pianists between the ages of 8 and 18 at the time of the competition.


COMPETITION FORMAT
The 2011 competition consists of two rounds (taking place on the same day):

  • a preliminary round
  • a final competition round

The first of two rounds consists of the participant performing

  • one etude from the 20 short etudes by Moszkowski op.91
  • one piece that will be announced one week before the competition.

Up to 6 finalists will be chosen to compete in the final round. Each participant performs two pieces of his/her choice. The program may not be longer than 15 minutes in lenght. The piece performed in the first round cannot be repeated in the final round.


JUDGES' DECISIONS
The competition will be judged by three international musicians and pedagogues: Tian Lu (China), Jura Margulis (Russia), Alan Weiss (USA). The decision of the jury on both the preliminary round and final round is final and not subject to question, review, or appeal.


TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Finalists must be prepared to travel to Aruba at his or her own expense. The organization does not provide housing.
